The scene in 02:09 made me remember the very last scene of the movie The Witch, when the people were being lifted up to the sky. Besides, it would have been an amazing soundtrack to this movie.

this is one of her best if not the best song \u003c3

When you watch this, even if you're not a fan of this genre, you know you're watching something amazing. It's just that special kind of sound and profound talent that you wish popular artists actually had. This sound is incredible.

Happy Birthday Florence!! But what’s another year when you’re an ageless Goddess!! ❤️😍❤️

I love the religious first impression u get from the song and the contrast with the paganism of a coven of witches dancing. Maybe its just me...

If florence and lorde ever do collab or at least share a stage together that would be the cause of my death and i will be thankful for that moment.

LYRICS\nYou need a big god\nBig enough to hold your love\nYou need a big god\nBig enough to fill you up\nYou keep me up at night\nTo my messages, you do not reply\nYou know I still like you the most\nThe best of the best and the worst of the worst\nWell, you can never know\nThe places that I go\nI still like you the most\nYou'll always be my favorite ghost\nYou need a big god\nBig enough to hold your love\nYou need a big god\nBig enough to fill you up\nSometimes I think it's gettin' better\nAnd then it gets much worse\nIs it just part of the process?\nWell, Jesus Christ, it hurts\nThough I know I should know better\nWell, I can make this work\nIs it just part of the process?\nWell, Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, it hurts\nJesus Christ, Jesus Christ, it hurts\nYou need a big god\nBig enough to hold your love\nYou need a big god\nBig enough to fill you up\nShower your affection, let it rain on me\nAnd pull down the mountain, drag your cities to the sea, yeah\nShower your affection, let it rain on me\nDon't leave me on this white cliff\nLet it slide down to the, slide down to the sea\nSlide down to the, slide down to the sea

She is absolutely innately connected to those soulish urges for transcendence that cannot be confined by time or space or physicality. It seems her every temporal material reference has some connection to the nature of those urges. Her perceptive and lyrical framework is based on this and this is why she is so massively underappreciated in this commercialist society but will be legend at some point. Regardless of faith or religion, this is what humanity is within all the silences with unspoken words of craving for that Other Force to fill us up - not the immediate gratification of someone's text or attention.

i just love when she dances. I feel like I'm dancing too without moving an inch

I love when she’s all primal and pagan like this. She’s a fascinatingly beautiful creature and her music does stuff to my soul that I can’t even articulate. Can’t wait for this new album!!

The cinematography is beautiful in this video and of course Florence's voice is amazing as always. I love the haunting quality.
Laine Cauthen
Easily my favorite music video of all time!! I already loved this song but damn... the choreography is over the top killer. The ex-dancer in me is so envious of these dancers! The energy, the simplicity, the colors, the void, the water, the long hair, the emotion, the power... TOO GREAT!!!! Heart explosions for reals.

So .... I like Florence and HER meaning of this song is a pretty common thing. People get ghosted all the time....\n\nBUT\n\n\nPLEASE \n\nDO\n\nNOT send this to anyone who has ghosted you...they may file a restraining order 😆

Okay this might be my new favourite Florence music video

The dancing in this is fucking fantastic. It's this surreal, unsettling war dance, and that kind of movement combined with the colourful veils and the long, long hair is just eerie and threatening in the best way.

Florence has a key to my soul. \nAnd this video is amazing. Simple but left me speechless. She's like from another world, from a better world. Like a nymph or a witch but a good witch.

i can always rely on florence to make me feel like i’ve transcended into another realm with her music and the visuals, sometimes i question if the woman herself is even real

If anyone's anything like me and can't rest until the little hidden meanings are understood, this is what the director has said:\n“It’s about the power the darkness of longing can give you when you embrace your inner beast alone.... Women who bond themselves together like this, and rise up together like this, are usually accused of being witches, so I wanted to explore that. I also wanted to create an abstraction of Florence as if every woman was a small piece of glass that had shattered inside her. Now they join her outside her body and fight with her, love with her, go to war with her\
TheSecretninja420
And this is why I love Florence. This song is about someone not returning a text. The ability to put so much depth in that is insane!!

This video gives me nightmares\n...\nReally gorgeous nightmares

Wow! This woman is bigger than god and her voice sounds better than any angel and destroys all the devils. A raving beauty!

I often ask myself, what would women look like / move like / feel like if there were no male gaze. This video managed to find one way of answering it.

I've been listening to florence since i was 7 years old. her music has been a huge part of my life for 7 years now. she basically raised me. i love her and her music so much it's unreal. this album is going back to her roots and i love that. florence never disappoints me, and with each song i just feel some kind of connection. i fucking love florence welch and her music, so much. i wouldn't be the same without her. i just wish i could thank her for being such a huge influence and role model to me.

Her new music sounds like she has stopped praying and became her own goddess\n\n(a little addition+) thank you all for so many likes! But what I meant by this was that her latest two songs are so raw. Her music is usually very magical, very mystic and otherworldly. They usually have beautiful orchestras in the background, loud and enchanting. But this song and Hunger are both (to me) very different. Like they give me the vibes of an ancient deity who has known and protected woman and girls from every lifetime, watched their growth, their mistreatment, their love, their womanhood. A deity who knows humans and what they are capable of. Different from her 'fae queen, glamour and earthiness\
omarstopnow
this video confirms Florence is a modern-day witch.
riepocaliptica
Honestly, the best thing about this song is how it builds up. The piece growing and growing gives a very visceral effect when all of the drops happen. In that essence, it feels very primal and fulfilling.
saeklin
Didn't see the witch coven resemblance till I read the comments. Just seemed like a visual metaphor to me. Something about her personal angels and demons or different personas or something like that. Dancing half-naked in the water could mean she feels cold and exposed, but the strong movements indicate power and conviction in her judgment. But the scene also sorta of reminds me of sirens on the sea. For the meaning of the lyrics... I think she rejected someone and is trying to stay in touch but the other person won't reply. \
