Sometimes god puts people into all of our lives to create magic and feeling and love. Music is so important to the human species. Thank our god for the talents of Florence and the machine and Christine and the queens. Long may they make us feel happy. God bless them

Lyrics \nOoh, ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh\n\nAt seventeen, I started to starve myself\nI thought that love was a kind of emptiness\nAnd at least I understood then the hunger I felt\nAnd I didn't have to call it loneliness\n\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\n\n \n\nTell me what you need, oh, you look so free\nThe way you use your body, baby, come on and work it for me\nDon't let it get you down, you're the best thing I've seen\nWe never found the answer but we knew one thing\n\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\n\nAnd it's friday night and it's kicking in\nAnd I can't dress, they're gonna crucify me\nOh, you and all your vibrant youths\nHow could anything bad ever happen to you?\nYou make a fool of death with your beauty, and for a moment\n\nI thought love was in the drugs and the more I took\nThe more I took away and I could never get enough\nI thought love was on the stage\nYou give yourself to strangers\nYou don't have to be afraid\nThen it tries to find a home with people and I'm alone\nPicking it apart and staring at your phone\n\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\n\nTell me what you need, oh, you look so free\nThe way you use your body, baby, come on and work it for me\nDon't let it get you down, you're the best thing I've seen\nWe never found the answer but we knew one thing\n\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\nWe all have a hunger\n\nAnd it's friday night and it's kicking in\nAnd I can't dress, they're gonna crucify me\nOh, you and all your vibrant youths\nHow could anything bad ever happen to you?\nYou make a fool of death with your beauty, and for a moment\nI forget to worry

I really love her dancing in this because it feels so on-the-spot and genuine. Just random, powerful but human. I mean if we wanted to dance and show our feelings toward something we cared about, we wouldn't care how we danced, just that we did.

I can't describe how much I relate to this song. Such an underrated artist.

From the first time I heard this song and watched this video, the idea of Hunger as a need for Love hit me hard, but I felt something else was missing. Maybe it's the imagery of the video, but I think it speaks volumes about Self Love, Self Esteem, Self Acceptance. The statue can also be our own body, and our love-hate relationship with it. It is also the loneliness, or the Void she sings about in Big God. \n\

We all have the same thoughts, desires, flaws, lusts, sins, joys, loves... we all have a hunger. We are all human, so why not embrace it?

When I first heard this song on the radio I felt sick cuz I related to that first verse so much. I've never liked Florence and the machine as it's not my style of music. But I've suffered from anorexia and I'm struggling with recovery and relapse and the lyrics of this song attracted me to it so now I listen to it most days cuz it comforts me

Ever since I first heard Dog Days, I was in complete love. Florence’s music touches me in a way I don’t know how to explain. It’s like her songs are a soul, and a book, they’re poetry and they remind me of the most wonderful things of life. Like being in a cottage in the woods, with the green and the grass, reading a book, magic and adventure. It’s life and love. 🌱This is Florence’s music.

The first line hit me like a train. I've been fighting against eating disorders for so many years and although I cried like a baby when I listened to this song for the first time, it has also given me strenght. The entire album has such a strong message! I'm truly amazed. I love this so so so so much
Lovelessgirl
This song came out at a time my eating disorder was getting out of hand, it hit me so hard literally every lyric I seem to relate to but Florence seems to present it in such a beautiful way like she’s just amazing every song she creates seems to be like a saviour tbh

People have trouble interpreting what this video is about. Yes, Florence at 17 was experiencing an eating disorder and was looking to feel less of an emptiness like we all do. \

I’m so in love with her passion....\nNobody equals the passion that Florence puts into her music and her art. Her music has inspired me and helped me get through so much.

From what I can understand, the meaning of the song is that each individual has a hunger, a greed, something they want but don't necessarily need. Everyone is so set on sating their hunger at any cost and don't mind anything else. I don't know, I might be completely off, but what are your guys' view on the song? I love to read what you guys take from this :)

I think this video is saying that statues are a thing that our past ancestors make to commemorate people in their own way. Those people were important to our predecessors but they don't mean as much to younger generations. They have holes that need to be filled. Instead of keeping them under-wraps and forgetting about them, the younger generations take the old and create something new and meaningful to them. The plants on the statues are living, just as they are giving new life to these old ways. The end of the video shows this cycle again, as the new statues are buried for the next generation to discover. \n\nFlorence herself said \

You know, I've listened to this song a handful of times in the past couple of days, and there was always something that bothered me a bit: the song seems to be _too_ upbeat. Now I always thought Florence was pretty pop-ish, in the sense she does like her songs a bit more on the upbeat side, on a happy note, but she also has some songs where she goes a bit deeper and are slow, so I thought maybe this one would be better if it were also slow. However, reading the comments, I think I've figured out what she's trying to do.\nThe song started as a deep poem, she talks about her experiences with anorexia or \
